STACEY - MELBOURNE MEMORIES

STACEY - MELBOURNE MEMORIES

My lovely friend Stacey has been living in Japan for the past year — but on her way back to her hometown in New Zealand, I got the opportunity to create a few more Melbourne memories with her.

KIT & CABOODLE

I shot a range of digital, 35mm and instant film, with my faithful cameras:

  • EOS 70D with 50mm lens.

  • Canon AV-1 35mm film camera, Agfa Vista 200 film

  • Fuji Instax mini, Fujifilm Instax Monochrome film.

Adapting to the weather was interesting, as we had bright sunshine, a sudden rain shower and then incredible backlighting.

FILM

I love shooting digital and film — when I get my film back from processing, it feels like a secret set of photographs, that I tucked away in a Time Capsule for my future self to discover.

SAME SHOOT, DIFFERENT PLACE

I had scouted out a few places to shoot in the days prior to Stacey’s arrival — but the weather had it’s own idea on how and where we should shoot. It’s really interesting how different this set looks, when we only shot in 2 different places.

THANKS

Once again, I cannot thank Stacey enough for her help, she gave great advice on styling, posing, composing, light, angles — there are more photos from this day, so I will post them separately another day. Also, a big thanks to my wife, Rishma, for lending us some clothes for the shoot, and for giving me time out from parent duties to shoot.
